The ideal location for a bamboo plant is the abundance/prosperity, fame/reputation, family/elders, or health section of the bagua. Choose the location you want to address in particular. You can see a bagua map here: http://www.feng-shui-and-beyond.com/feng-shui-bagua-map.html

Be well,
Jessica

My bed is positioned in between my bedroom door and one of my bedrooms windows. This is bad feng shui, my bed is in the middle of chi highway. How can I deflect this chi without moving my bed, which isn’t an option?

Hi Andrew,
firstly, a little side comment for Bob: You’re correct in so far as you go but feng shui also concerns itself with placement within a room!

A bed directly on the line between window and door is not a good idea because the energy can never come to rest here. What you can do is to hang a fasceted crystal in the middle of the window. This will break up the light and cause the energy to spread fairly evenly around the room instead of going into a concentrated stream towards the door.

Hope this helps.

Blessed be

Karma Singh

Feng Shui is a complex system of ordering your life by ordering your personal space. Start by locating the compass directions of your home. The West is the direction of romantic feelings, but the Southwest is the direction of family harmony. According to Lillian Too, a cluster of natural quartz crystals is extremely effective in the Southwest of your home for attracting romance. Glass crystals can also be used, especially when they are placed to catch sunlight. Illuminating the crystal is important in any case, and even a crystal chandelier-type lamp turned on for at least 3 hours each day will enhance the romantic aspect.

Remove any clutter from this area so that it is open and artful. Don’t hang coats or hats there, and don’t dump your keys, books, or other items. If the Southwest part of your home is a bathroom the Feng Shui experts recommend you stop using that bathroom altogether, especially if the toilet is in the Southwest. When Feng Shui was invented no one had bathrooms, and the room is viewed as a drain on resources, whereas Europeans view the bath as revitalizing. You can minimize the bath’s negativity by hanging a five-rod, black-painted, wooden windchime over the toilet, or by placing a full-length mirror on the outside of the door thereby implying the bath doesn’t exist.

Another thing you should do is make sure your home has a balance between male and female energy. If your art is all sports, hunting, cars, etc. you should balance it with some feminine art, and I don’t mean your Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Calendar. Pairs of objects are considered good for romantic luck. Mandarin ducks, dragons, and fish in pairs are traditional decoration. Below is one link to recommendations on feng shui.

Hi,
Our relationship never had any major problems and he continues to come back into my life (he is really confused and a commitment-phobe). Any way he is the love of my life and I want to make things even more sure that we will be together again. Please tell me how I can use feng shui to help me with this!
Thank you so much

That’s not usually how feng shui works — it can attract general love into your life, but not really control a specific person.

If you are still interested in feng shui, the usual claim is to add lots of pairs of items into the house and especially the bedroom, and make sure the place seems inviting for love — like if you had a boyfriend right now, he’d not be weirded by your weird girly items left out or something. There are also issues of balancing the various elements in your rooms — like if your bedroom has too much color and furniture of a type associated with water element that could be part of your trouble, and you’d need to balance that. There are many good feng shui books out there — my favorite is Feng Shui Made Easy by William Spear.

Now, more formal (and I’m told much better) feng shui is actually WAYYY more complex than that, and you’d have to study much harder and possibly do full-out renovations to your house every few months as the seasons change (you can’t half-@ss the real feng shui.) I’m told it’s actually worth it if you can put up with the inconvenience but it is a big difficulty.

Nobody ever answers my Q’s.

:(((((((((((((

1. entire home
2. then rooms separately

so, firstly you will have big parts of your bagua map (entire house). you can correct what you need.

secondly, you will have smaller bagua map of the specific room. why you need smaller map? if you can’t correct one of the parts in your house (the room is not yours, or you just cant make changes in the entire house), then correct the necessary part in your room. you live there, and spend a lot of time there, so you small map can help here)

hope this helps:)

If you are refering to a pa gwa mirror, they go outside, but thy are very dangerous, so be careful how you place them. Make sure they don’t face anywhere it will hurt other people while protecting you.

I’ve recently been really interested in Feng Shui. I’m trying to research it. If you have any tips or websites it would really help me. Thank you.

I can recommend one website http://www.sacredfengshuidesign.com.au which I have been told by my clients is very informative and easy to read, and has over 30 feng shui tips. I am a little biased because it is my site. I am a qualified feng shui consultant specialising in geomancy, space clearing, divination, chinese and western astrology.

I have also posted my feng shui newsletter on my web page for the Year of the Metal Tiger and what you can expect; plus a free tool to calculate your four pillars (chinese astrology chart). My newsletter also details the feng shui energies for the Year of the Tiger and how to handle them.

I also give regular tips and inspirational messages on Twitter; you can find me at http://twitter.com/fengshui_expert or you can visit my Feng Shui Forum on Facebook where you can have your questions answered by my group of qualified consultants http://www.facebook.com/pages/Melbourne-Australia/Feng-Shui-Forum/198324986580?ref=ts

its year of the Tiger this 2010, so what is the color or lucky color for this year? does anyone know? or can you give me the site where i can find the color for 2010?

there is no such thing as lucky color in fengshui.

when predicting if business in general would be okay or not, fengshui practitioners usually see the if the 2 elements of the year are compatible or not. every year has 2 elements, you can calculate for these using the formulas in destiny calculation for the year pillar. so for next year, the elements are metal over wood, these 2 are not compatible… so, business next year is not that good in general.

then it is also popular for year of tiger to have a calamity or an accident… in fengshui, the tiger is usually associated with accidents.
