The Chinese call the expression of “energy” Chi, but what are the basic qualities of this energy? It is invisible, intangible and changeable however we all feel it, in some shape or form.
If we can lift our Chi or spirit we will get more from life and this is exactly what Feng Shui helps us do.
Lifting Your Spirit & Mood
feng shui is the ancient Chinese art of manipulating and arranging your surroundings to attract positive life energy, or chi, so that it flows smoothly, unblocking any obstructions in your body and environment.
The Origins of Feng Shui
The geography of China requires careful consideration when constructing and planning buildings as the mountain winds are unforgiving and the lower areas are prone to flooding, which gave the art its name of wind and water.
Feng Shui evolved from the theory that people are affected by their surroundings Feng Shui is a guide to, respecting our surroundings and working with the flow of nature to create a harmonious environment, making us feel better and derive more from life.
The origins of Feng Shui date back several thousand years and although it originated in China, it now has millions of devotees worldwide.

Take an example such as air, If there is one quality within air that we are all naturally aware of, it is the presence of oxygen as we can’t live without it!
We all feel when we have exercised that our body is well oxygenated and our Chi, our spirit and mood, feels invigorated as a consequence.
Conversely, if we sit for a long time in a hot Smokey room or sleep in an unventilated one we, will feel tired, despondent and unenthusiastic. There are of course a huge amount of examples of how are environment influences our lives, of which the above is just one.
The flow of chi is influenced by a number of factors of the physical environment.
Colors, shapes, orientation, lighting, objects and their positions, the use of space, and the degree of cleanliness, all impact collectively upon our senses and determine a home’s energy flow.
This flow affects us continually and affects our moods. You spend most of your life in your home and workplace and your surroundings significantly influence your Chi and moods so you want them to have a positive impact.
Feng Shui makes our houses and our workspace generate positive energy, which then attracts more positive energy to enrich our lives for the better.
The purpose of feng shui
When you Feng Shui a home or a work place, you’re making a statement of what you want from your life.
Whenever you say the words “I am,” you are making a statement about who you are at an exact moment in time.

Statements like “what you think about, you bring about,” and “what you do comes back to you.” underline what Feng shui is all about.
Instead of being negative Feng Shui focuses on the positive “I am feeling great”, “I am in good health”, “I am rich” or “I am happy.”
These statements are mood lifting and create an ideal, which be different to whom you are at the moment.
This power of intention and the faith in your potential can help you get more from life.
If you’re intent on getting rid of negative beliefs, Feng Shui will create a method for you to adopt positive beliefs, in your personal space and a method to help make more positive things happen in your life.

Feng Shui in the kitchen is as important as Feng Shui in any other room. The kitchen is often referred to as “the heart” of the home, and it is easy to see why. The kitchen is connected to health in Feng Shui, and a strong kitchen is like a strong heart. The food that nourishes the body is cooked there, making the kitchen a sign of nourishment in Feng Shui as well.
Feng Shui is directly connected with the flow of energy, which is often referred to as Chi. The Chi of the kitchen can affect the overall feelings of the inhabitants of the home. This is because health and nourishment are connected with the kitchen. If the kitchen is in bad shape, the health of the people in the home is likely to be bad. This is all due to the negative energy created by the bad kitchen.
Once you have decided to Feng Shui your kitchen, it is important to prepare it properly. Feng Shui and cleanliness go hand in hand, so the first thing to do is thoroughly clean. This means literally cleaning from top to bottom of the kitchen. Dust everything from the top and inside of the cabinets, to the baseboards. Sweep and mop the floor to give the essence of a clean slate. Wipe down the countertops, sinks, and appliances. The cleanliness of the kitchen will create positive energy and get you off to the right start.
If you have any clutter on your countertops, it is important to streamline it. This will help the positive energy flow easier. Clutter that is unseen is also bad for the flow of energy. Hidden clutter in cabinets and refrigerators are an easy way to block positive Chi. The pantry should also be uncluttered and organized. Clutter can block the mind from accepting the positive energy in a room.
Another great way to bring positive energy into the kitchen is with fresh flowers. Fresh flowers are very uplifting, which is important on the nourishment area of the kitchen. Fake or dried flowers do not have any significant feng shui affect, so fresh flowers are important. Having a vase of fresh flowers or a live plant in your kitchen is a great way to bring life into the kitchen.
Feng Shui in the kitchen truly is an important part of a harmonious home. The positive flow of energy brought to the home by Feng Shui can uplift the body and mind. Once you have your Feng Shui kitchen, enjoy the healthy and happy Chi it brings.

in which direction of the home can keep fish aquarium as per feng shui? my son loved it but i am little particular about the placing of such thing related to feng shui, so please help if anyone knows it.
it is difficult to precisely know where to put an aquarium. because you need to measure your house’s main front door - what precise degree it faces. then using flying stars, calculate the flying star chart of the house. wshen you have this chart, it will show you the energy distribution of the house. basically, you want the aquarium (considered as moving water in fengshui) to be located in the area with current water (money) star with a good energy combination (in flying stars method, different energies combine, interact and react together to form new energy, which is distinct and has its own characteristics; this characteristics becomes your life when you live in this area more… or in fengshui term "activate this area"; another way to activate is to keep moving objects in this area; water is a powerful thing, because it is one of the elements, so using a moving water thing would be great; just remember that moving water can "activate" both good energy and bad energy; when bad energy is activated, then accidents and expenses happen.).
another thing, the only general thing about aquariums is that you dont put them in bedrooms or in bathrooms, as these things can complicate life more.
in flying stars method, direction and location are 2 different things. location is more important as faras aquariums are concerned.
The ideal location for a bamboo plant is the abundance/prosperity, fame/reputation, family/elders, or health section of the bagua. Choose the location you want to address in particular. You can see a bagua map here: http://www.feng-shui-and-beyond.com/feng-shui-bagua-map.html
Be well,
